What only this model does
These are the three places Seedance 2.5 pulls away from Seedance 2.0. The numbers come from the same configuration the generator validates against, so they are what the API will actually accept.
Audio-only input
Submit an audio clip with no image and no video, and this model still generates; Seedance 2.0 rejects audio-only requests. Up to 10 audio clips per request, against 3 there.
Clips up to 30 seconds
One generation runs up to 30 seconds, against 15 on Seedance 2.0. Credits are charged per second, so a longer clip costs proportionally more rather than unlocking a higher tier.
Reference material at scale
Up to 30 reference images and 10 reference videos totalling 30 seconds — against 9 images and 3 videos on Seedance 2.0. This is what holds one character across a whole sequence of shots.
What this model rejects, and what to do instead
These are the rejections that actually happen in production, not a generic policy summary. Credits frozen for a rejected job are released automatically.
Photos of real people
Every Seedance model refuses to animate a recognizable real face, including your own and including images you hold the rights to. Switching models does not help — the check is upstream of both. The compliant path is to create a character under Assets from that image, then reference the character instead.
Reference video under 2 seconds
A motion reference shorter than 2 seconds is rejected on submission. This is about the reference clip's own length, not the length of the video you are generating.
Deleted or still-processing assets
A reference to an asset that was deleted after you selected it fails upstream, and retrying will never succeed. Reopen the character picker and select again — stale selections are dropped automatically when it reloads.
Prompts that trip content review
Prompt-level rejections name the prompt, not your reference material. Rewording usually clears it. Review is tighter here than on Seedance 2.0, so a prompt rejected on this model is worth retrying there.

- The four production causes are recognizable real faces, a reference video shorter than 2 seconds, a deleted or still-processing asset, and a prompt that trips content review. Switching models does not help for real faces; some prompts that fail here pass on Seedance 2.0.
